Brick Fireplace & Chimney Removal In Bowie, MD

Challenge

Maria of Bowie, MD wanted her leaking, dated looking brick fireplace and chimney completely removed from her family room and replaced by glass patio doors that would give her back yard and patio access as well as adding a natural light source to her family room. She also wanted the two windows on either side of the fireplace removed and replaced with solid walls.

Solution

Within a few days, Andy and his team began the work of shoring up the wall (a weight bearing wall) before tearing out the old fireplace and windows. Once the brick and mortar debris was cleared away, the job moved along quickly, with the installation of the new patio doors, patching the window openings in the walls, and patching and shingling the roof. Once again the home was weather tight, the team finished off the floor in the family room with tile and the walls with paint.

Integrity cleaned up carefully, and left the yard and the room ‘company ready.’ Maria was quite happy with the results. The removal of the fireplace opened up and modernized the family room, and gave her access to her patio and backyard in time to use for the arrival of summer.
