Enhancing your front yard and overall curb appeal, doesn’t have to cost a fortune and can be done relatively quickly. I want to go over some helpful tips that you can use for improving your curb appeal.

The first tip I have for you is put a fresh coat of paint on the front door, trim, and shutters. Most exterior paint will cost you about $25 per gallon, and painting these fixtures can definitely add some brightness and revive the look of your home. For the Door, pick a bold color that stands out, just make sure it complements the rest of the colors on your home’s exterior.

Also, think about upgrading your mailbox. It doesn’t matter if you have a regular mailbox at the end of the road, or one that is mounted to your house, adding a new mailbox will add curb appeal. Most mailboxes run between $10 and $100, and the only thing you have to remember when installing is to adhere to the rules of your homeowners association or local city ordinances.

Installing new house numbers is another way to enhance curb appeal. If your house has old or faded house numbers, consider looking for modern ones that are made from stainless steel, brass, or aluminum. Simple house numbers can start at $2 for one number, or you can look into custom plaques that cost $50 to $100.

Finally, think about planting a tree or some flowers. Planting is one of the most common ways to add curb appeal to your house, while also being kind to the environment. Just remember, if you decide to plant a tree, make sure you take into consideration not only the lighting and soil requirements, but how large the tree and its root system will be at maturity. – Don’t plant near telephone and electrical wires or sewer pipes – you don’t want to create a future problem for yourself!
